Story

Well, this has been a long road so far....

In 2013 I was diagnosed with osteo-arthritis in my left knee which I thought would end my ability to run and train. You can imagaine how I felt at the time... However, after physiotherapy at the hospital and lots of training (and help and encouragement!) at the BAE gym in Farnborough, I have managed to slowly build up the strength in my legs.

I started training in Jan-18, completing my first Olympic Distance Triathlon of the year in Apr-18.  It was after this point that I wanted to take part in the 2019 London Marathon for my favourite charity.

As part of my training programme I have signed up to the New Forest Middle Distance Triathlon which is on 02-Sep-18 - this comprises: Lake Swim 1.9km, Transition run 1.6km, Road Bike 90km and Run 21km (70.3 miles in total!). Hopefully this will go well!

Since Jan-18 I have lost just over 12kgs in weight through the training programme (although I do still enjoy an occasional beer lol)

Following this, training will lead up to the London Marathon in Apr-19 which will be the main focus for my fundraising. I am hoping to raise £2,000 for the Sussex Snowdrop Trust by this stage.

Now, if the London Marathon all goes well (even if I have to walk it!) then my next focus will be the Forestman Full Distance Triathlon on 26-May-19 - this comprises Lake Swim 3.8km, Transition run 1.6km, Road Bike 180km and run 42.2km - as you can imagine both the Marathon and this event will be massive feats.

Please help me by giving whatever you can to the Sussex Snowdrop Trust which is such a fantastic charity x

I will keep you posted of progress!
