Story

To introduce the project and why I'm raising money, I should make it known that it is essential that I reach this target to go on the trip- if I don't I can't go! It's part of a contract between the charity and the UK government that states I must raise a minimum of £1500- this is because the government funds 80% of the trip whilst the rest of the funding comes from participants. My deadline is very soon and if I don't raise the money I cannot go- I have already deferred my place once due to family circumstances and unfortunately cannot defer again- please help me on this one!

With that out the way- I'll talk a bit about the project and why I'd like to go...

At the age of 18, I know somewhat of the world; but more importantly I know of my core values and how I  can make a difference and ultimately assist those that are less fortunate than I am. I've made the difficult decision not to go to university, l but before I take my next steps in life and receive great experiences and relationships from the universe, first I would like to give.

As well as the money raised from this page, I will give up around 12 weeks (3+ months) of my life during which I will travel to Tanzania on a  programme focusing particularly on the livlihoods of local communities.

Almost every day I will be organising workshops and lessons within a team to train young entrepreneurs. The end goal of the project is to work alongside these young, ambitious people to pitch a business idea; where they will then have the opportunity of receiving a grant of up to 400,000TZS (around £1,500) from the charity to bring their idea to reality so that our work there has a long lasting positive impact of the people involved, as well as the wider community.

I will be sent to some of the most rural and parts of the country, living with a host family and Tanzanian counterpart to do my part in ensuring the well being of others that may not have had the same opportunities that I had growing up in a developed country- whether that's running water or opportunity within business and careers.

Though it will be an experience of a lifetime, this is definitely not a holiday- I will be living within the local community for the entire duration of the stay, I will sleep and eat in my new home provided by a Tanzanian host family. I'll get bitten by monstrous mosquitos, wash with a bucket, have very little contact with family and friends and be exposed to many other situations that are not quite like those faced at home! All a challenge that will be beneficial to both myself and hopefully the community...

I usually feel guilty about asking people for money, but I know how much difference a single person can make to the lives of many people- so hear me out! - I'm doing this so you don't have to!

I can't wait to come back and tell you all my story, and more importantly 'the story' of how not just me, but all of us can all make the difference and what we need to do, now and more than ever before, to change the world.

So what are you waiting for? Donate a pound, a penny, even a chip! Anything to make me know that there are other kind hearted people out there, as the rest is up to you.

I thank you in advance for giving me this opportunity...
