Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the 2019 London Marathon to help raise money for Dementia UK. I have chosen to run for this amazing charity because last year we lost a father and a grandmother to Dementia.  The years leading up to those losses were filled with fear and apprehension

We were not prepared for the tragic feelings of helplessness and hopelessness that comes with witnessing the decline in our loved ones.  We didn’t know what was best or how to cope emotionally, practically and physically.

Typically, you learn from having endured these things.  There is support available! Dementia UK helps families to cope, they provide one to one support with Admiral Nurses who guide people on how to face life positively when living with Dementia.

If the money I help raise goes towards preventing other families go through the pain and sadness we went through, everyone of the 26.2 miles will be worth it.
