Story
I am running the 2026 Scottish 10K for Wren and raising money for the LoveOliver charity who have supported Wren’s family through his journey. Here is Wren’s story;
At four months old Wren was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour- a type of kidney cancer. He went through multiple surgeries and 16 months of weekly chemotherapy. Wren’s treatment was successful but unfortunately he lost his left kidney in the process. He spent two years in remission but sadly relapsed into his remaining kidney when he was 4 years old. Wren went under more intensive chemotherapy for 6 months and lost his remaining kidney.
Wren now has to travel to Glasgow’s children’s hospital four times a week for dialysis until he can get a transplant two years post chemotherapy.
Wren is recovering well after a 5 month stay in the hospital in Glasgow. He is enjoying being back at Nursery with his friends and getting back to normal.
Everyone is so pleased to have him back at Nursery, he is so resilient and cheerful.
They are a fantastic Charity and I would be so grateful if you could take the time to sponsor me to help the cause and to motivate me in my training!
