Team Andrew YBTC 1.8 Challenge

LESLEY SHEARMAN is raising money for Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity
In memory of ANDREW SHEARMAN
We turn 18 in February! The 1.8 Challenge is a virtual challenge where we are asking the public to dream up an activity based around the numbers 1.8 or 18 and raise vital funds for Yorkshires Brain Tumour Charity.

Story

Taking part are:
Lesley, Charlotte and Rachel

We are raising money for YBTC in memory of Andrew, a brilliant husband, dad and friend who sadly lost his life to a brain tumour six years ago.

The challenge is to do something for 18 minutes every day in February as part of YBTC's 1.8 Challenge initiative to celebrate its 18th Birthday.

So what did we choose?
To do 18 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) every single day!

If you know the three of us you'll know there's varying levels of fitness within the group, but in the current climate getting the motivation to do this will be a challenge for us all!

We decided to take part not only to give us the boost we need to get fitter in lockdown, but also because it felt fitting to honour Andrew as we approach six years without him by our side.

Andrew was diagnosed with a brain tumour, a grade 4, Glioblastoma - aggressive, terminal and inoperable in October 2011. He survived just over 3 years from diagnosis and continues to be missed every day.

We are determined to tackle our challenge with Andrew's fighting spirit and hope you will be able to spare a small donation to help us reach our target of £180.

To keep us accountable we'll be posting some pictures from our sessions here, and having group sessions over Zoom where we can!

Wish us luck :)

Love Lesley, Charlotte and Rachel x
