Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I lost my lovely Dad last year to stomach cancer. It was a heartbreaking time for my family and I to see the rock of the family deteriorate as he did, from being such a mentally and physically strong man which we wish to remember him as. Without the Dougie Mac we don't know how we would have got through this.
The Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Blurton is the most fantastic place for both patients and the support which they offer to their family. The staff are the most dedicated, understanding, caring and uplifting people I have ever met.
The care which they gave to my Dad and ourselves was commendable and for which I will be eternally grateful.
They exist purely on charitable donations and I made a promise to myself that apart from a standard monthly direct debit I would do something to support them in the fantastic work they do.
My Dad was a loving Dad, happy, lived life to the full, always with a contagious smile on his face and I wanted to do something which he had done, which seemed fitting when raising money for this fantastic charity.
Dad when he was younger used to be in the Paratroopers, so for me, this event was the one for me (and him). I'm really quite scared about the jump but I have my own reasons for doing it and I hope you will please support me by making a donation.
The amount you donate doesn't matter, it's the fact you have taken the time to read this and hopefully you will help me support a worthwhile local charity.
Thank you
