Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

90% of people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital sadly pass away.

In 2021, by the grace of the almighty, I was one of the lucky ones blessed with a second chance.

Sadly, last year, our dear friend Zara Khan fell asleep during the night, never to wake again due to undiagnosed cardiac event.

An outstanding lawyer, loving wife, devoted mother of three beautiful children and close friend to many-including my wife, Zara went out of her way for those she cared about.

Whilst we can never fill the void left by Zara, we can ensure she didn’t die in vain, by donating in Zara’s name you can help spread awareness of heart disease and crucially, help fund research to cure heart disease and aid recovery. As Muslims, we believe once we pass our deeds come to an end, except three: Ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who will pray for them- let’s ensure we make Zara’s Akhira blessed with goodness, light and warmth.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
