Right now, animals who've survived abandonment, abuse, and neglect are fighting for their lives at Let's be SMART foster home near Athens Airport. Cats with severe eye infections that will leave them blind or kill them without surgery. Dogs hit by cars and left broken on the roadside. Puppies and kittens with life -threatening illnesses that need immediate treatment. Each month, we face the same impossible choice: turn away animals in desperate need, or find the funds to give them the emergency veterinary care, medicines, and surgeries that stand between suffering and death.

The reality of rescue is relentless. We care for approximately 100 cats and 8 dogs - many with special needs including paralysis, chronic illnesses, and complex medical conditions requiring lifelong support. Our monthly veterinary budget alone is €7,193 (over €86,000 annually), covering emergency surgeries, ongoing treatments, specialized nutrition, and therapies. Add food, shelter, and daily care, and the costs are staggering. We receive no government support—every single euro comes from people like you.

These aren't just statistics - they're living souls who've already endured so much. We've built a foster home where second chances are possible, but we can't do it alone.
