Story

Hi. Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

This coming June 21st, Amy, Chris and Keith are undertaking the London to Brighton Bike Race...a 54 mile bike ride starting in London and finishing at the East Pier in Brighton.

About The Team

Amy Leddington

A huge Lance Armstrong fan, Amy has decided to follow in Lance's footsteps this year and get back on her bike! Unlike Lance's more recent efforts, the last serious bike ride Amy did was 6 years ago cycling from London to Paris. Amy has decided that she can't live off this one feat for ever, and although London-Brighton is somewhat shorter than London-Paris, she is leaving her twenties imminently and is perhaps not quite as fit, young and sprightly as she once was. Plus she secretly believes that if she can convince her brother and fiance to enjoy the day she has a greater hope of getting them to join her cycling to Paris at some point in the future! So show your encouragement by proving that they can not only have fun but raise money for a great cause!

Chris McWade

Chris started cycling at the age of 4 and was able to take off the stabilisers by the time he reached 15. He has successfully ridden a collection of bikes which includes a Raleigh Budgie, a Raleigh Grifter and his faithful BMX, from his Mum’s house to his mates’ houses and back again many times. He once even cycled nearly 6 miles to the golf course so a 54 mile trek should provide him with a fresh challenge. Thankfully he has recently acquired a bike with more than 3 gears and is training hard by cycling to the pub in Wimbledon and back on a regular basis. Sponsored by London Pride Ale, Chris is looking forward to a refreshing pint when he eventually arrives inBrighton.

Keith Leddington

Keith was born at a very early age, and picked up an interest in cycling a few years back when his sister introduced him to the Tour De France, with Lance Armstrong being a particular influence. Keith has been to see the Tour on several occasions, including being at the finish in Paris when Lance picked up his 7th win. Keith has now decided to get off his fat arse, actually use his quite expensive bike and attempt to raise some money for a good cause. It's also making him go to the gym more, so he has an added excuse to look at cute-gym-girl's bum. Keith is by far and away the youngest, hottest and fittest member of the team, and as such, expects to be up the hill at the end of the race even faster than his pay packets tend to disappear.

About The Race

The UK's largest charity bike ride with 27,000 riders cycling the scenic route between London and Brighton on the south coast.

Since 1980 when the BHF first became involved with the London to Brighton Bike Ride, over 650,000 riders have taken part in the event and more than £40 million has been raised to help fund pioneering research research, patient care and vital information.

How You Can Help

All you have to do to support us, and make sure we actually reach the pub in Brighton, is click on the link below and donate online. It's completely secure, so you don't have to worry about Chris using your card details to buy beer with.

Honestly, we appreciate any help you can afford. We're fully aware there's a credit crunch on, but BHF still needs funding to continue caring and supporting for heart patients and their families. Please give generously (and as there's 3 of us...you need to give 3 times whatever figure you have in your head!)

Thank you.

Amy, Chris & Keith
