My Tadcu was clearly showing signs of dementia when my Mamgu was diagnosed with Cancer. When she died in 2015, Tadcu's issues became more obvious. A diagnosis of Vascular Dementia (the second most common form of dementia) came shortly after. I am shocked that there is, to date, nothing that can be done (no medication or treatment) to stop or slow down the deterioration we have witnessed in Tadcu.
My Tadcu means the world to me, because he thought the world of me. He was always there for me, providing encouragement and support in all of my endeavours. He was always sacrificing his time and effort to take me to all the after school events, be it football, rugby or a piano lesson or two. Without his love and affection, I would never have achieved all that I achieved so far in my life.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us fight for a world without dementia.
