Tackle 40k, 65k or 100k through Gloucestershire and the local countryside to raise much needed funds for St Peter's Hospice

Story

St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Our commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. All of our care is provided free of charge, but it costs us around £20,000 a day to provide that care. For most of this money we rely on Gifts in Wills, donations, fundraising and our shops.

As I sit and write this short description of why I am taking part in this cycling event, having just dusted the bike off after over a year, realising there isn't a lot of time to train and feeling really thoroughly unfit. I can't quite help but think, "why did I sign-up for this?!" However, this thought quickly leaves my mind as remember what a worthwhile cause the event is.

I am taking part in the Tour de Bristol (65km route) to raise money for St Peter's to help them continue to care for patients and their families in Bristol. St Peter's provided excellent service for my late grandfather and this is only a small token of my appreciation for them.

It also helps that I'm taking part in the event with my Dad, so I'm hoping I can save some energy in his slipstream!

If you could spare a few pounds for the Hospice that would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure you'll agree it's an extremely worthwhile cause.

Many thanks,

Lewis
