Hi!
I am doing a sky dive on the 28th September and am raising money to help The Eagle canoe club replace their slide which is obsolete and out of action due to being no longer compliant with health and safety regulations.
The club is an asset for the community not only for the fitness benefits of kayaking and canoeing but also for its social aspect. The club encourages individuals of all abilities to come and try paddle sports and meet new people, both of which boost confidence and combat loneliness, improving mental health as well as physical form. The club also engages with the local youth providing coaching and opportunities to connect with their peers.
In recent years the club has undergone extensive redevelopment which has allowed it to offer a wider range of activites to all its members and the local community. The centre is now regularly used by outside groups.
With the ever growing following of stand up paddle boarding, the Eagle club would like to be in a position to offer this to its members. To enable this the club requires a small fleet of SUP’s.
The funds raised will be go towards both of these aims for the Eagle club.
