Wills Woodland is a retreat in Devon exclusively for families on a childhood cancer journey. Set in a private 6 acre woodland, this is an opportunity to take a break away from a hospital setting, in safety and seclusion, to find time to just be as a family.When children are undergoing treatment, theyre often neutropenic and susceptible to infection, so finding things to do is particularly tricky. They can spend a lot of time in isolation due to a compromised immune system and never-ending infections. The reality of sitting in a room for weeks is extremely and for a young child.We want to ensure patients can still experience some of the things that other children their age enjoy and we want to help families, wherever they are in their treatment journey, to be able to spend special time together.
