Lewis Sutton is raising money for World Horse Welfare
Participants: My brother Joe Sutton will also be climbing the mountain with me to raise money for world horse welfare
Story
My name is Lewis Sutton and I am a Farrier from Ashford in Kent. I have been a farrier for around 7 years and I am lucky enough to say that I have a job that I enjoy. Growing up, I can't remember a time that horses weren't a big part of my life. This is the reason that I have chosen to raise money for WORLD HORSE WELFARE. All money raised will go straight towards this charity.
My brother Joe and I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on the 24th of July 2017. It will take 10 days over all and we will get to the summit on the 7th day. Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 5895m (19341ft) which is not only Africa's highest mountain but also the world's tallest free standing mountain. We will be climbing through 5 different habitats which go from the dusty plains of East Africa, through jungle and moorland all the way to the icy summit.
I have booked this expedition through Adventure training and Expeditions.
The World Horse Welfare is a UK based charity that work with horses, horse owners, communities, organisations and governments to improve the welfare standard and stop the unnecessary suffering of all horses in the UK and across the world. They have 4 UK rescue and rehoming centres that are free to visit where you can experience their work and see the horses undergoing rehabilitation ready for them to be rehomed.
All donations will be greatly appreciated. I will be keeping you all updated with my training over the coming months. I will also make sure there are plenty of photos and videos of my expedition for those of you that are kind enough to donate.
