We at SOBS offer support to those impacted by suicide loss

Story

On April 21st 2018, I will be taking part in the Dirty Reiver - a 200km off road cycling event and raising money for SOBS, in short they are an amazing charity that helps bring people together to talk about suicide. They offer direct support to families and friends of loved ones that have taken their own lives.

Over the last couple of years I have unfortunately witnessed my Family and friends suffer from the aftermath that a suicide brings, from my Cousin Johnathon McHale to a treasured friend Elliot Stapleton-Giddins.

My Cousin Johnathon McHale aged 19 died on January 7th 2016 when he tragically ended up on the M1 motorway at Newport Pagnell. Sadly Johnathon took his own life due to a break down in his relationship just a few days earlier. The sudden shock and loss for his friends and family is difficult to live with, and we are all left with a huge hole in our hearts.

Elliot's sudden, Premature death on October 2nd 2016 at the age of 18 came as a total shock to his family and friends and we are all still trying to come to terms with the severity of this huge loss. Both of these tragic events have left many unanswered questions and a truly massive void for all that knew them.

Through SOBS the Parents were able to connect and share their stories, and offer each other the support needed in such difficult times.

I ask that you help support the charity SOBS in any way you can, they truly offer an amazing support platform to help bring people together affected by suicide.
