Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

I am the founder and chair of the trustees of the LBS. I started the charity after my precious mother was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia  as there wasn’t one in the UK dedicated solely to this terrible disease.

To mark my 3 score and 10, I had planned  to walk Hadrian’s Wall in aid of the  Society. As this is not possible because of the pandemic, I am walking the equivalent distance , in  3-4 mile daily stages, along Newcastle section of the Wall Path.
