Lewys' Personal Marathon for the NHS

Thank you for visiting my page. If you can afford to, any donation is really appreciated to this important cause.
After speaking with my father, he was very happy for me to do this. "Good on you, but no newspapers". We agreed that I would tell the story without going into too much detail.
On Wednesday 20th January, my father was taken into hospital because his COVID related symptoms had become too much to handle at home.
That night was the scariest of my life. Probably his too. You can't imagine the frustration and fear you feel watching your father get gradually worse by the minute, as you wait 4-5 hours for an ambulance to come.
On the following Saturday, the healthcare staff on Ward J at Morriston Hospital made the decision to switch him from a CPAP to a mechanical ventilator. This meant he was also placed in a medically induced coma.
For around a month, we did phone calls with nurses for updates and phones call with him in the hope he could hear us. There was a lot of ups and downs but fortunately, in the end, they saved his life :-).
Now, at the end of March, he's going through rehabilitation. And I've just had my 25th birthday. So, I thought it would be a good challenge for me to run a marathon distance to raise funds for Swansea Bay University LHB Charitable Fund and Other Related Charities.
I'm sticking to a 16-week plan to get ready for it. So, I should complete it on the 10th/11th July (from my birthday, on the 20th March). I've never run further than a half-marathon, though.
This is to say thanks to every nurse, doctor and consultant who had to hear me cry on the phone! My family, dad and I just feel really, really grateful for what you did (and are doing) for him and thousands of others during this pandemic.
(£420 because I'll be running 42 km.)
