I have been swimming all my life, thanks to my Mum for taking me to the river every summer. It is my happy place so now I want to give something back to my community and our young LGBT family. When I am half way down the lake, with tired arms and dont feel like I can do it I will think of the struggles our young LGBT community are having and will find a way to keep going.

LGBT Youth Scotland is the national charity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) young people. Life can be tough for any young person, but LGBTI young people face unique and additional barriers and that is why LGBT Youth Scotland exists. We believe Scotland can be a place where all young people can thrive and flourish, and we work alongside young people to remove those barriers; supporting young people individually, and amplifying their collective voices to influence change.
