Story
Growing up one of my biggest role models was my Nan and I always thought that she'd be here forever because as a child you don't want to accept that someone so important to you could be taken away. My Nan was diagnosed with bowel cancer and long story short, she passed away on 10th September 2015 and I'd lost a huge part of my life and that space can never be filled. I was very lucky to have 16 years with a great grandparent, I was even luckier to have them filled with the best memories that I will treasure forever, and I was even luckier because my Nan was always so proud of me and I like to think that the choices I have made since losing her would continue to make her proud. She'd probably say I was mad, given my track record of exercise and running... I purposefully tripped myself up in primary school to get out of cross country and got shouted at a lot from my PE teacher in secondary school for walking the laps, but I hope this will make her proud. If you know me, then you'll also know that I can't walk 10 steps without tripping up or injuring myself somehow and that I'm incredibly clumsy so this could be very interesting.
