Story

Lymphoma Out Loud was founded by Charlotte, who at the age of 26 was faced with the most gut-
wrenching news - she was diagnosed with an incurable cancer. Abdominal pain, severe bloating, and exhaustion were the beginning of her symptoms, and so started a two-year battle for answers.

During the two years, Charlotte made various trips to the GP and A&E, and despite her pleas that
something was wrong and that she could "feel something growing inside" her, she was told that she "was too young for anything serious to be wrong”.

It wasn’t until her sister dragged her to her local GP that she finally got answers and she was told she had advanced and progressive lymphoma. The “something growing” was a 15cm tumour in her abdomen that was compressing her spine; a 5cm tumour on her neck; a tumour behind her heart and it had also spread to
her bone marrow. Charlotte also discovered that she'd been living with cancer for the past two years, due to this cancer had spread so far that it was now incurable.

Upon research, Charlotte discovered that lymphoma is the most common cancer in the under 30's! Had she of known, perhaps she would have persevered with the GP’s; perhaps she would have got to know her body a bit more and be aware of changes to it. Perhaps then she wouldn’t be living with an incurable cancer. Frustrated by the lack of awareness and education on the signs and symptoms of this ever-increasing disease and to prevent other young adults having to receive a late-stage cancer diagnosis she felt empowered to set up an education and awareness charity aimed at young adults.

Lymphoma Out Loud’s mission:-
Every 27 minutes another person is diagnosed with Lymphoma, making it the most common blood cancer
and the most common cancer in young people and it is on the increase. Despite this, awareness is
shockingly low. Lymphoma Out Loud's mission is to; educate young people on the signs and symptoms,
empower them to be body aware, and give them the confidence to head to the GP if they notice anything
that doesn't feel right. We want to spread the message of being body brave!

> We have campaigned in parliament
> We have toured Summer Festvals talking to young adults and encouraging them to #BeBodyBrave
> Now we are ofering FREE educaton and awareness presentatons to educate and empower! We'll come to your uni, office, gym, youth group – anywhere to make sure you're clued up on lymphoma.
