Story

Prevent Breast Cancer endeavour to create a future free from breast cancer. 1 in 9 women and 1 in 1000 men in the UK will develop the disease in their lifetime. That means that every year, in the UK, 55,000 individuals are diagnosed, 150 people a day. And every year, we lose 11,400 to this disease. That is 11,400 too many. In fact, it is 55,000 too many. If we could prevent breast cancer tomorrow, by 2027, over 550,000 would never receive a diagnosis. This year we are gathering a group of runners/walkers who will wear our logo with pride and represent Prevent Breast Cancer on the streets of Manchester. Our aim: to raise as much funding as possible to maintain and grow the incredible work and research conducted by the Nightingale Centre. Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer. We set ourselves apart from other charities by believing we can stop the problem before it starts.
