Back in 2017 I worked with a wonderful organisation called pamoja Leo in Tanzania. I have never forgotten how touched I was by the people there and the wonderful work that they were doing and are still doing.

I was so inspired that last October I ran the London marathon and with the kind generosity of so many people we raised £1500 for this amazing organisation. 

This money provided formulated milk to orphaned babies so that they were able to survive until they could eat solid foods.

It costs £250 to feed a baby until they can eat solid foods. This means that those kind donations literally saved 6 babies lives. This is the power of charity and this is why I’m now inspired to take on an even bigger challenge than a marathon and run a double marathon (100k) along one of the toughest terranes in the Uk, the Jurassic coast. 

I’m doubling up my efforts to raise as much money as I can for the next project that Pamoja Leo need help with. 

Hopefully with your help I’m looking to raise around  £1,300 for the renovations of a safe house for abused, sick and homeless young women and children so that they can recover, be safe and escape their life threatening situations.

Your donations will provide all the furniture for the house such as baby cots, mattresses, painting and decorating, general fittings, a new kitchen, and security.

This safe house will be used as temporary shelter mainly for young girls escaping abuse and for children who are sick and needing somewhere close to the hospital to stay. The house will also be used for families that have become homeless and need somewhere to stay until they get back on their feet.

This safe house is on the Pamoja Leo grounds so they are able to provide a safe place to temporarily live, a social worker for support, daycare for the children and parenting classes to help young families create a healthier and safer future.

The people that were so kind to donate the last time I did a charity event have already provided the nutrition needed for babies to make it to a toddler. Now let’s provide them with a safe place to live and help them create a happier and healthier future.
