Story
£1,000 donated off line by Mr Peter Dickinson from Liverpool.
The Teenage Cancer Trust Newcastle Unit was opened in October 1997 and has 6 beds. We are currently planning a new build as part of the hospital's program of development. The unit will provide up to 7 beds and should be completed by December 2009 at a cost of approximately £1.9 million.
A quote from an ex-patient treated on the TCT Newcastle unit.
“The opening of the new ward has made a huge difference to my view of the treatment I have to go through. The new ward is a million times better than the old ward. The old ward was smelly, dirty, the drinking water was warm, there was nothing to do so you got very bored. The new ward has four state-of-the-art computers, a pool table and hi-fi of the highest quality. We have got our own sitting room with Sky TV, our own kitchen so we can have nice food all the time. The new ward is rather like a five-star hotel. It is very luxurious and much nice to be on than the old ward.”
By supporting Liam's mum and dad, you are helping all the teenagers who come to our door at the Newcastle unit of Teenage Cancer Trust - thank you
