Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page !

Please take the time to read about our amazing little man Liam.

Liam was the bravest, strongest, most inspirational young man you could wish to meet.  He was kind hearted and thoughtful and always polite.

He was a deep thinker, but also had a funny side.  He had a dry sense of humour and had the gift of being able to make people laugh !

He loved his family and his friends, he loved tv and music and his xbox and he loved fast cars.  He loved playing his guitar and loved art, being very talented at both.  He loved magic and illusions and daredevil stunts.

But most of all he loved to be active, on his scooter, on his bmx, playing table tennis, football and rugby.

On the 9 March 2012 our world collapsed.  Liam was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant form of cancer which causes tumours in the soft tissue and muscles.  After being diagnosed Liam had a number of operations and underwent extensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments to try and beat his illness.

Although he battled bravely to the end, Liam finally succumbed to his illness on 30 May 2013, 2 days after his 12 birthday.

A determined youngster, Liam turned all aspects of his treatment into positives. When he found out he would lose his hair he did sponsored hair shaves, he did sponsored walks and runs, he sold reindeer food, he sold wrist bands, he held raffles and donated money from his primary school prom and funeral.

Raising and donating over £8,200 to charities between March 2012 and June 2013 was Liam’s way of saying thank you to the hospitals and organisations that have supported him and his family through this stage of his life.

His positivity and determination to make the best of a bad situation make Liam an inspiration to us all.  To us he was simply amazing.

So please dig deep and donate now !

Thanks, Jo and Andy x
