Although I absolutely love exercise, this usually involves a 5k whizz at the weekend followed up by a Latte , so a run of this enormity is making me nervous already. I am relying upon the thoughts of why I am running for the Brooke and the kind words and donations from all of you lovely people to keep me going, so thank you so much in advance for ensuring I have to keep going and can't give up.

I have decided to run in aid of the Brooke, an international animal welfare charity dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules. 600 million people in some of the world's poorest places rely on 100 million of these creatures.  Although they won't ever have lives like our own horses, their suffering is preventable as good animal welfare protects human livelihoods: a healthy working equid allows a family to put food on their table, send their children to school, and build themselves a better future. A donkey that is exhausted from relentlessly carrying twice his bodyweight in bricks, with no water or rest, is not. By donating money to this cause you are transforming the lives of these vulnerable working animals, helping to relieve their immediate suffering and creating lasting change through education within the communities in which they are currently struggling.
