Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Some family members and I will be running the BHGE 10K in May for Stroke Association in honour of my Dad. This is a UK charity that works to prevent strokes, provide support to everyone affected, fund research and campaign for stroke survivors of all ages.

As some of you may know, my dad had a stroke in October 2018, this came as a surprise to everyone, at the age of 47, marathon runner and always eating a healthy diet, statistically he was the least likely person to suffer from a stroke.

As it turned out my Dad had an underlying heart condition which caused his stroke. By running this 10K we hope to raise money for research into causes of strokes and  additional support for families as well as patients,  to try to prevent this happening to any other person or family.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
