Inspired by the former Wales striker’s own battle against testicular cancer, the John Hartson Foundation aims to increase awareness of the disease and raise much-needed funds to support those whose lives are affected by cancer. Men, women, children and families. So please, give what you can afford.

40 Reasons to Grab Life by the Balls

As you may know, I'm celebrating a Big Birthday on Friday, June 5 with family and friends at the beautiful Mar Hall Golf and Spa Resort near Glasgow.

Some of the guests are friends I've been lucky enough to meet through my work as Fundraising Manager UK for the John Hartson Foundation.  Since I joined the Foundation almost two years ago, I've met some amazing people - some, like John, have beaten cancer themselves.

Others have shown overwhelming support by fundraising or selflessly giving their time to help, as do many of my family members and friends.  They are all Hartson's Heroes and have helped the Foundation carry on its work raising awareness of testicular cancer and providing support to people with cancer and their families at one of the most difficult times in their lives.

That's why I decided to ask people not to bring presents - I have enough stuff! - but to come along and have a fabulous night supporting the Foundation instead.

I've set up this page in response to requests from some of the people who can't make it on the night but very generously want to make a donation instead.

So thank you all so much for your generosity and support - it means so much to me.

I hope everyone has a fabulous night and does Grab Life by the Balls.
