Story
I'm running this year's Berlin Marathon to raise money for Save the Children - every child deserves the best possible start in life. No matter their circumstances.
Over the last decade or so we've seen global warming create unlivable conditions for children across Africa, wars interrupt childhoods in Syria and Ukraine, and here in the UK after the worst decade of austerity, we have more children living in poverty then ever before.
Save the Children exist to ensure that every child has access to basic human rights such as food, shelter, education and safety. As well as developing programs that look to support children who could be struggling with educational development, offering psychosocial support due to trauma and providing families around the world cash grants following emergencies to buy resources based on their personal needs.
Why Save the Children?
Save the Children has helped nearly 45 million children around the world gain access to medicine, shelter, education and food! But more still needs to be done.
Your support will impact lives globally
Money donated will go directly towards projects impacting children globally. Over the last year we have; supported families impacted by the Türkiye & Syria earthquakes with emergency cash grants, set up child friendly spaces in Ukraine and bordering countries to support children so they can continue to learn and play and provide families in the UK with essential household items and early learning packs to reduce immediate financial stress due to the cost of living crisis.
By helping children have the best possible start in life, we help raise the next generation of leaders and changemakers. Without encouraging the best possible outcomes for children we limit the potential for everyone. Every child deserves the right to shelter, food, education, medicine and the experiences childhood.
