As many of you know we lost Linda at the beginning of the year, she did so much for so many people and towards the end of her time with us, the home from home nurses at Bury Hospice helped us to enjoy those last special memories.

Did you know that Bury Hospice costs around £2.5 million to run each year? Less than 20% of this is funded by the NHS, and we have to generate more than 80% of our own income through a variety of means – which means we have to raise £4,838.84 each day to keep the hospice open for local people that we support.

Your support means that we can do what we do best, care for hundreds of local people every year.  All our care is provided free of charge, round the clock, every day of the year, and we rely on people like you to help us raise the money we need. 

No matter how big or small your event or contribution is, every penny makes a difference.  Here are some examples of what your money can buy:

It costs £3.36 a minute to run Bury Hospice

For my part I am going to run the twelve-mile Tough Mudder challenge on October the 5th 2013 in Cheshire. This includes going through muddy bogs, high walls and being electrocuted! Amongst many other things, I am also going to get the Tough Mudder tattoo after the event to inflict even more pain on myself! I will of course upload pictures onto Facebook and Twitter for all to see. So for your part hopefully you will place a small donation and help this great organization.
