From Mon 27th Oct – Sun 2nd Nov, 2014 I'll be joining the Liberty Team to go MAD (#MAKEADIFFERENCE) in the lives of people in Badary, Lagos, Nigeria. 

£22 per night for food and accommodation (total 7 nights; £154) 
£1 for every 5 miles of the flight journey (approx £700)

As a volunteer and team leader I’m responsible for counselling, building up, equipping others and coordinating the team.  I share my life skills, knowledge and experiences to fight poverty, help find sustainable solutions to problems and make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

Badagry was the location of a major port for exporting slaves to the Americas during the slave trade. Despite efforts of past governments it’s still underdeveloped, due to be the aftermath of the transatlantic trade and other influences.

I joined Liberty – Making People Free in 2007.  Whilst active in church I was looking for the answer to the question ‘there must be more than this’?  I’ve never looked back since and seen hundreds of lives transformed, witnessed miracles and bible stories literally unfolding before my eyes.

It’s no holiday but the exhausting sacrifices are rapidly dwarfed when you see the changes made to lives for generations to come.  No town Liberty have been to remained the same after we visited them with the Love of Christ

As well as sharpening existing skills, I’ve developed new ones that I use daily basis and will stay me for the rest of my life.  This has also galvanised me to help local community projects such as Love Streatham and the Nehemiah Project, to regardless of belief or ethnicity.
