I am absolutely delighted to have the chance to take part in a charity flat race at Wincanton Racecourse on the 24th October 2021 to raise funds for Racing Welfare, a charity which has already helped so many people within the industry.

A little bit about me...

I’m 23 years old and have ridden and owned horses since the age of 3. For many years I competed Internationally in Mounted Games with results including 5th in a World Championship!

I’m now Showjumping to a high standard and have recently had some great results and wins!

I have worked in racing now for 5 years regularly schooling, working horses and riding in racecourse gallops.

Taking part in a charity race is something that I’ve always wanted to do and I feel very lucky to be given this opportunity.

A little bit about this amazing charity....

Racing Welfare is a registered charity supporting the workforce of British horseracing, including stud, stable and racecourse staff, alongside those working in associated roles across the industry. We offer professional guidance and practical help to all those whose dedication is vital for the well-being of racing. Our work aims to help people, from recruitment to retirement, to thrive in day-to-day life and through a range of life’s challenges.

In 2020, Racing Welfare saw a huge increase in those coming to the charity for support.  By the end of the year, we supported over 4,500 individuals, marking an 80% increase on the numbers from 2019.  The fallout of Covid-19 continues to impact many people across the horseracing industry and the charity’s services remain in high demand.

Racing Welfare relies almost exclusively on donations. This Wincanton Race Day is specifically aimed at increasing awareness of the wide breadth of services that the charity provides and at raising essential funds to help us to support the people who made your day at the races possible.

Thank you for your support, any donations are hugely appreciated!
