Liddy's Kiltwalk for Uphill

Liddy Laird is raising money for The Uphill Trust

Dundee Kiltwalk 2026 · 16 August 2026 ·

The Uphill Trust supports the development of Uphill Junior School - a small primary school with kindergarten in rural western Uganda. Our projects include providing school meals, clean water and good sanitation, education for girls and orphans, and building classrooms and other infrastructure.

Story

Wellies are not the footwear for a Kiltwalk but they are an option in Uganda when it rains. However, we need something a bit more concrete at Uphill Junior School. Can you help us landscape our school site?

The problems caused by these torrents of rain running across and down our school site are huge.

Wearing wellies is very acceptable by everyone in Uganda but even this footwear is not always enough. If you have 300 pairs of kids’ feet running around the school along unmade paths every day, you can imagine the potential erosion of our hill.

We now have a major job constructing some robust walkways with drainage throughout our sloping site and make things safe for everyone.

This will be my 10th Kiltwalk in August is for The Uphill Trust and I will be carrying a pair of wellies. More suitable walking shoes will be on my feet unless it is pouring with rain on the day.

Please support me if you are able. Every donation is hugely appreciated and will go directly to the project. Thank you
