Story
Daniel and I will be cycling around Dartmoor. Starting at Exeter and going to Okehampton on day 1. On day 2 we will go to Buckfastleigh via Plymouth, and finally on day 3 go to Totnes and take the train back to London, a total distance of ~140 km (93 miles) and elevation of ~1700m.
We will be doing this over the jubilee weekend as part of the Royal Raid Local where cyclists are aiming to ride 87 miles and ascending 1,952m, in celebration of the number of years that Queen Elizabeth II has reigned and her year of coronation in June.
Starting the day Before Richard with friend Mike are walking across Dartmoor wild camping starting at Okehampton and finishing at Buckfastleigh. A family challenge!
Since 2020, over 1,000 riders from across the globe have taken to their local hills or hopped on the cycling app Zwift to cover miles of road and ascent to help find a cure for Parkinsons. This June, Raid Local is back for a third outing, and this time...its royal!
All funds raised will help Cure Parkinsons to discover treatments which have the potential to slow, stop, or reverse the devastating progression of Parkinsons.
