Paul and Mick, lifeguards at the Parliament Hill Lido in Hampstead Heath. are running the London Marathon in April in memory of Glyn Roberts

"On 1st January we lost a much loved friend and colleague. Glyn worked on Hampstead Heath as a Lifeguard for 23 years during which time he saved many lives and raised thousands for charity including participating in 18 marathons. He was a trainer with the Royal Lifesaving Society and organised water safety awareness lessons for hundreds of children each summer. His voluntary work included campaigning to protect green spaces and the installation of games areas for children in his neighbourhood. Glyn was a person who simply loved life and it was a life full of kind acts. His caring and fun-loving personality will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him"

Their challenge is on Sunday 23rd April

Eleanor is one of the regular lido swimmers.

"I cannot run for love nor money and will certainly not be putting herself through what would the ritual humiliation of trying to complete a marathon! Instead, I'm taking on the challenge of walking the Hebridean Way, about 180 miles of rugged Atlantic coastline across ten islands of the Outer Hebrides in my native Scotland from Stornoway in Lewis in the north to Vatersay in the south. And some fellow swimmers who knew and loved Glyn too will be joining me en route to share my pain!"

Eleanor's challenge starts on Monday 17th April and finishes on Thursday 27th April

Please, please help us to raise as much money as possible in memory of a fantastic guy who was taken from us far too soon
