Story
Hello friends,
This October, I'm lacing up my running shoes for something pretty significant - my first half marathon since becoming a mum! I'm taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon for the 5th time, running once again for Microtia UK, a charity that's incredibly close to my heart.
Microtia is a rare condition affecting 1 in 6,000 people, where babies are born with underdeveloped ears and often experience hearing loss. My (now taller than me) wee brother Josh was born with Microtia and this amazing small charity has provided excellent support and updates for our family over the years.
It's a rare condition that most people haven't come across, which is why I keep supporting this charity. They're entirely donation-funded, so every contribution matters.
Your generosity directly supports:
Research & Innovation - Funding cutting-edge studies in stem cell research, regenerative medicine, hearing support, and understanding the real-life impact of living with Microtia
Building Community - Creating welcoming events and spaces where families can connect, share experiences, and children can simply have fun together
Education & Resources - Producing essential guides for new parents, medical professionals, and families navigating treatment options and school transitions
I completely understand times are tough for many right now, so whether it's £1 or more, I'm genuinely grateful for any support you can offer.
Getting back to running post-baby has been quite the journey (yep I have a runner buggy now), but knowing I'm running for such a great cause keeps me motivated!
Thank you for cheering me on over the years - having you all in my corner means the world!
Much love,
Lila x
