Story

Anyone who knows me well knows I have three lovely boys, what you may not know is that Conor, my second, has a congenital heart defect.

Conor was born January 16th 2008, everything went exactly to plan....until it didn’t.

On January 17th as we waited to be discharged and sent home we found ourselves being rushed by ambulance to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

Conor spent the next three weeks in NICU under the incredible care of Orla Franklin, Kevin Walsh, Lars Nolke and countless heroic nurses before we got him home in February after open heart surgery.

Thankfully, due to their amazing work and the research of CMRF, Conor is flying it today, he knows his own heart and when to rest. He is a happy healthy little lad, who loves farming and adores all things GAA, playing hurling and football for his club just like his Dad and brothers. I’m the only non GAA player in our family!

So....on September 18th I will be abseiling the Hogan Stand in Croke Park for CMRF who raise vital funds for medical research on behalf of children just like Conor.

Any support, big or small makes a difference, medical research matters and you can be a part of that, thank you on behalf of our family and others just like ours ❤️
