Story

I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my auntie. Pat was more like a grandma to me. She suffered with asthma in adult life and in later years was diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Watching an active person slowly deteriorate to not being able to walk 3 steps as they were struggling to breathe and gasping for air was heartbreaking.

For anyone who knows me, knows I have always loathed running so much so , I was always the child who was "ill" or 'Injured' when it came to the cross country run whilst at school. When Lockdown hit and with nothing else to do, I then started running and have been consistent ever since - apart from a torn meniscus. I am slowly but surely building back up my running and have set myself this challenge to not only raise awareness of Lung Disease but also I feel very strongly to support this charity as everyone has the right to breathe easy.

We all know someone who has or does suffer with Asthma and 1 in 5 of us will have a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute. I'm running The London Marathon 2024 for Asthma + Lung UK. They are the only UK charity that fights for everyones right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UKs nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

I want to thank everyone for donating and your support!
