Virtual Mountain climbing Whernside · 1 March 2021

1 in 125 babies are born with CHD. CHSF supports Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, it's patients and their families. We fund lifesaving equipment, parent accommodation, staff training, and a family support service. 100% donor-funded, we can only do this with your help. Empowered lives, because of you.

Story

Lily was born in 2014 with a serious congenital heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia. She has braverly undergone three open heart surgerys at one week old, 7 months old and 5 years old. Without these operations she would not be with us now. The children's heart surgery fund provide vital support to families going through the most difficult times. They pay for accommodation for parents to stay as close as possible to their child during the hospital stays and much needed equipment. We are very grateful for being able to stay so close to Lily during the scariest times of our lives and also to all the staff who looked after Lily. Lily is now thriving and wants to raise as much money as she can to give back to the charity and staff who were amazing throughout her operations, MRIs, cardiac catheters and all the outpatient appointments. She is going to be climbing a virtual mountain by climbing the stairs 284 times in the month of March. This is the height of Yorkshire's highest peak, Whernside. This is something she would not have been able to do if it wasn't for the amazing hospital, charity and staff.
