I’m running this half marathon with Sky in support of The King’s Trust, as part of Sky’s partnership with the charity to help young people access opportunities in media careers and beyond.
An estimated 52% of 16–25-year-olds - more than 4.2 million young people - are interested in a career in news and/or sports media, yet many face significant barriers. Research by The King’s Trust found that 2 in 3 young people don’t know where to start, and half lack industry connections to access advice or mentorship.
With almost 50% of young people saying work experience would help them consider a career in the industry, this support is vital. By donating, you’ll be helping more young people take their first steps into careers they might otherwise never access.
