On Sunday 5th October 2014 I will be taking part in my first half marathon to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

This is a very personal challenge for me.  I took up running a few years ago and have taken part in a number of 10k's but am yet to achieve anything beyond this distance.  Over the past few years cancer has affected the lives of so many of my close friends and family.  I know that, like me, most of you will also have experienced cancer either first hand or within your friends/family.

My goal on the day is to enjoy the run and (hopefully!) make it to the finishing line whilst raising funds for this great charity.
