At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I like tell you a story about my Dad (Bill Mitten) who is a loving and suppotive father I alway had in my childhood years of my life. Growing up with my dad was fun and memorible, he alway likes to play sports and always sport plays with us because he had so much energy for middle age, he best sport he play was cricket. But love watching football, he alway talk about Manchester United.

My dad was alway there when I'm down e.g crying and sick but with his loving embrace, he alway put a smile on my face. He even give a £1 coin for bravely. But sadly years when on, the signs of dementia was coming e.g like my dad daily routine was waking me up for college, but for came reason is he wakes me up more time in one morning less 10 minutes until I get up. He was slowing forgetting daily actives and become move aggressive, it put me a situation that i'm losing the loving and suppotive father i'm had.

Until One day I become a young care for my dad, it like I become a loving and supportive daughter for him. I like to say it was hard watching my dad losing is momeries of his love one e.g wife, daughter and son plus grandaughter. So the best decision he had to do is put my dad is a care home, so they can manage is aggression .

As the alzheimers disease slowing destorying his brain, and causing to lose is loving momeries, he not talking much but he is still showing is loving gesture at me, like smiling and hugging me when is see me. But how he asking me when he will be going home, deep down in my stomach, it's telling me that "he want to go home to his mum" all i can say " soon dad soon".

That my story of my dad who was a loving suppotive father turning into a shell of himself because of Alzheimer disease.
