A hula hoop hospice walking challenge · 21 April 2021

St Mary’s Hospice provides specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life-shortening conditions throughout South Cumbria. Less than 20% of our funding comes from the NHS, the rest comes from our supporters. All our services are provided free to patients and their families.

Story

Thankyou from the "Hula Hoop Hospice Challenge Team" for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. 🌻

We are a hula hooping team of 6 friends. We started hula hooping during lockdown to learn a new skill and to keep fit. During that time we have improved our skill maintained our friendship and kept our spirits high. We have experienced a relative critically ill with Covid -19, personal loss of family members due to other illnesses, personal illness,  and a member of our team battling cancer and the heartbreak of separation from our families like everyone else. 🌻

Covid-19 has taken a huge toll on alot of charities and we want to give something back to our community by supporting our local hospice St. Mary's in Ulverston. 🌻

On Wednesday 21st April Linda (Lindy Lou),Jeanette (Whirlwind), Judith (Octopussy) and Julie (Dynamo)hula hooped our way up and down Grange promenade for "4" miles keeping one of our hula hoops rotating at all times. Sue (Sunflower) and Denise (Daffodil) were our support team. We managed to do some hula hoop routines along the promenade to entertain the walkers. 🌻 It took us 2.5 hours to complete the challenge.

Please help us raise as much as we can and thankyou so much for supporting us. 🌻

Love from Linda, Jeanette, Judith and Julie (The Hula Hoop Hospice Team) and Sue and Denise (our vital Support Team). 🌻
