Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Keith's diagnosis of cancer in February 2011 came as a complete and utter shock. He had very few symptoms and never in our wildest dreams did we imagine the trip to the consultant would result in being told he had 9 to 12 months to live.
He had a great fear of going to Woking Hospice and they totally understood. Keith was introduced to a wonderful lady there, Jane Howard, who supported him at home over the year. I believe he could confide in Jane more than anyone else, including me. Having had the experience now of Woking Hospice I would never be afraid of having to go in there myself.
In January Keith's health rapidly declined and at the beginning of February he was admitted to the hospice. He stayed there for the last 4 weeks of his life and no one could have wished for better care. All the staff are absolutely amazing and I will be forever grateful to them for the dignity and care they provided for my husband and the support they offered to myself and our two children.
Woking Hospice relies on fund raising and if I can help contribute a little I know how gratefully it will be received. So I am doing this for my lovely husband who was only 56 when he died and for anyone else who is unfortunate enough to need the hospice, but lucky enough to be able to go there.
