Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our happy boy Rory (now 8) suffered an unexplained stroke in utero and was diagnosed with hemiplegia (a type of cerebral palsy) when he was 5 months old. The stroke had caused damage to most of Rory's left brain, leaving him with significant weakness on his right side, impaired peripheral vision and delayed cognitive development. Living with hemiplegia can often be a challenge but Hemi Chat provides fantastic support, both online through an active facebook group and through local meets (including here in NI) for families living with hemi.
A Hemi Chat team is tackling the 3 Peaks Challenge on the weekend of 4th-5th May, climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. Our team here in Northern Ireland is tackling the 4th peak (Slieve Donard) on 5th May and hoping to raise awareness of hemi and also some funds for Hemi Chat.
