Myself and other past and present members of the Ladies Circle National Exec have signed up to take part in the National Round Table Birdman competition, where would-be aviators in their home-made flying machines soar from Ilfracombe Pier into the freezing cold waters below. Hopefully we have got what it takes to jump the furthest off the launch platform to take home the Birdman trophy on Saturday 11th August.
