Story
To anyone who knows me, Reuben's Retreat may sound like a completely random charity for me to choose to support, but I think their dream and mission is just simply an incredibly beautiful one, and I hope to use my Ride Across Britain this year to help raise a bit of awareness for them as I cycle up the country, and also a few pennies along the way.
I completed the ride in 2016, but this doesn't mean that it'll be easier this time around. It only means that I know what to expect - 8 nights in a tent, nine days in the saddle, over 100 miles a day, THOUSANDS of feet-worth of hills, elation each evening crossing the line, and tears (REAL ACTUAL tears) and woe every morning when I realise that I have to get my shattered self up and out to do it all over again.
I'm looking forward to the experience with excitement and trepidation in equal measure (I'm lying - I'm completely terrified!), but knowing that I'm hopefully helping out such an awesome little charity in the process will make every mile I cycle, and every hill I sloooooowly crawl up absolutely worth the effort.
I'm grateful for any donation you feel you can contribute, and if nothing else, please read a little about Reuben's Retreat and let people know that they're out there and what they do. You never know who may benefit and the work they do for, and with families truly is wonderful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read :)
