The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Please help me to raise £350 for this incredible charity in memory of my friend Claire who died of a brain tumour 10  years' ago (and also in support of current friends and participants who are also dealing with cancer in the book of women's true stories that I'm currently writing 'Implosion': I'm thinking here of Praxedes Garcia who has Leukaemia, also of an anonymous lady who I've named 'Lily' in my book who has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and also of Gill Harrison who nursed her husband, Matt, when he had a sudden terminal brain cancer diagnosis in Sept 2019).   It's also to recognise the experiences of women like selfless Lauren Mahon and Deborah James, aka 'Bowel Babe' who raise cancer awareness despite all the daily rollercoaster struggles that cancer inflicts on their lives.

MacMillan help so many patients and their families in all kinds of ways (Lily's recently had therapy from one of their specialist trained counsellors, for example), so they need as much financial support as possible to provide their crucial services.

Whenever I sign up to undertake anything like this to raise sponsorship, I always have a massive panic that I won't hit my target, so please help me out here guys.

I'm taking part in the Hever Castle Triathalon on Sat 25/9/21 as think it's fitting for me (Hever was the birthplace of Ann Boleyn and I can't stay away from some history geek potential....)

Big love & epic thanks.
