For the second year running our little family will be taking part in the All Aboard for Autism sponsored one mile walk around the perimeter of Drayton Manor Park. 

This doesn't seem like a great challenge but when you factor in the mobility and sensory challenges that come with a severely autistic child, it really is no mean feat. We believe strongly in our duty to integrate Grayson into society. It is important to us to gently but consistantly push Grayson out of his comfort zone and into more and more social interaction. Completing this walk and then continuing with the rest of the day in the theme park at Drayton Manor is part of that challenge. 

We had an amazing time last year and we ranked in the top 10 fundraisers in 4th position, having raised £725 in sponsorship.

So much has happened in the last year in our little autism world. We have been able to obtain an EHCP for our wonderful Grayson, his diagnosis went from a working diagnosis (diagnosed age 3) to a full, lifelong diagnosis now. Grayson has had a full sensory profile completed by an Occupational Therapist giving us a much greater insight into his sensory processing challenges and strategies to help meet his sensory needs. And finally Grayson has transferred from a mainstream to a special school part way through his Reception year. His complex needs are fully met there, he has all the right therapies in place and he is happy. Grayson continues to have ongoing speech therapy and we hope and we work hard towards our goal of verbal communication. 

We continue to be involved with many of the National Autistic Society's events within our local branch and we continue to be amazed by all of the wonderful work that they do, both locally in Stafford and nationally. Please support us with your sponsorship for this wonderful cause. Thank you.
