Story

As some of you may know, after having our beautiful daughter Eva, I was poorly with severe anxiety. On a daily basis, I found myself caught up in what felt like an endless cloud of worry. However, after being told about Acacia by a friend and plucking up the courage to attend my first appointment with them, I felt the cloud slowly starting to break. My journey towards beating my anxiety issues has been a challenging one, but I can finally say I’ve done it! But I honestly believe that I’d still be under the shadow of that cloud, unable to see a way forward, if it hadn’t been for the unwavering support I received from Acacia. They accompanied me on my journey and provided compassionate support and encouragement every step of the way. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my moments; what new Mum doesn’t? However, when those moments arrive I use the advice and coping strategies that the wonderful Acacia team have taught me, to ride any waves of doubt and worry that attempt to push me backwards. Please support me in my skydiving challenge by donating whatever you can. I will be jumping out of a plane to raise much needed funds for a charity called Acacia Family Support. They help many families across Birmingham who suffer from the effects of postnatal depression and anxiety.  They offer mums and dads the support they need, to help them achieve a brighter future.
