Starchild was set up by Michaela Foster Marsh in memory of her adopted Ugandan brother Frankie Marsh. Starchild believes that every child deserves to be loved, cared for, fed and educated. In Uganda, sadly many have no one to provide basic needs. Starchild brings aid to the most vulnerable.

Story

Hello!

If you have arrived here then maybe you want to know why I am doing this!

I have been conducting studies in Western Uganda to try and understanding the difficulties of young girls in trying to stay in school. Unfortunately, there are many reasons as to why they find difficulties in completing school but time and again, the affordability and availability of sanitary towels comes up. As you can imagine, going to school on your period without any sanitary supplies can lead to discomfort, difficulties and embarrassment.

And so, with your help, my aim is to raise the money for  a year's supply of sanitary towels for the school that has been part of my study, so that they do not have to miss anymore school due to these reasons. The pads, Makapads, that I have selected are biodegradable so they are environmentally friendly and can be disposed of easily.

The price of a pack is roughly 60 pence so to cover a term £1.80 and the total of three terms and therefore a school year at the price £5.40. So the donation of £6/ 75sek /$8 would cover the transportation costs as well. There are 200 girls so the goal has been set accordingly. Think of the difference you could make with so little!

Starchild and I will supervise the distribution so we can guarantee the delivery and carrying out of the programme.

Thank you so much! Wabale nyo <3
